On 18 February 2026, partners of the MAAS – Tourism Job Broker project gathered in Uppsala, Sweden, for the project’s final conference, marking an important milestone in a collaborative European initiative focused on innovation, employability, and sustainable development in tourism.
Hosted in an engaging and professional setting, the conference brought together representatives, speakers, and stakeholders from across Europe to reflect on the project’s achievements, share insights, and discuss the future of workforce development in the tourism sector. The event combined live presentations, networking sessions, and hybrid participation, allowing both in-person and online contributors to take part.
A Platform for Ideas and Innovation
Throughout the day, participants attended a series of presentations covering key themes such as digital transformation, labour market inclusion, entrepreneurship, and sustainable tourism practices. Experts and project partners highlighted how cross-border cooperation can create practical tools and new opportunities for job seekers, employers, and training providers.
One of the featured sessions, “Driving Social Innovation Across Europe,” emphasized the importance of collaboration in addressing changing labour market needs and promoting inclusive growth. Another session, “Match, Attach and Sustain,” explored strategies for connecting talent with opportunity while supporting long-term employment pathways in a rapidly evolving digital landscape.
Networking and Collaboration
Beyond the formal presentations, the conference created valuable opportunities for networking and exchange. Participants engaged in discussions, shared experiences from their own regions, and explored ways to continue cooperation beyond the project’s conclusion. The lively atmosphere reflected the strength of the partnership built during the MAAS journey.
The inclusion of remote speakers and online contributors also demonstrated the project’s commitment to accessibility and international cooperation, ensuring a wider exchange of knowledge and perspectives.
Celebrating a Strong Partnership
The final conference also served as a celebration of the organisations that contributed to the project’s success. Partners from several countries—including educational institutions, tourism boards, innovation agencies, and development organisations—worked together to deliver meaningful outcomes under the MAAS initiative.
Looking Ahead
As the conference concluded, participants reflected not only on what had been achieved, but also on the long-term impact of the project. The MAAS Final Conference demonstrated how European cooperation can drive innovation, strengthen skills, and support a more resilient tourism sector for the future.
